Improvising a straight edge!

In the first few months of the pandemic, I pulled out the quilt fabric my grandmother left me, and made a bunch of face masks to send back to Texas, where cases were rising much faster that California. To make cutting easier, i needed a long straight edge, but (for some reason) I didn’t have a yard stick, and for obvious reasons I didn’t want to walk into a store. So I made one out of a piece of left-over slatwall aluminum, and printed up a handle to make it easy to hold and protect my tender hands.
